Description
CDF-C9 cells are normal human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs), isolated from neonatal foreskin, that have been genetically engineered to stably express a codon-optimized, nuclear-localized SpCas9 nuclease. These cells provide a robust and consistent platform for CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene knockout, knock-in, or transcriptional modulation in a physiologically relevant human somatic cell background. The Cas9 expression is driven by a constitutive promoter, eliminating the need for transient Cas9 delivery and enabling rapid gRNA screening and stable genome engineering projects.
Key Features
- Ready-to-Use Cas9 Platform: No need for Cas9 plasmid or mRNA transfection for geneknockout studies.
- High-Efficiency Editing: Consistently achieves >80% indel efficiency with optimized sgRNAs.
- Normal Karyotype & Phenotype: Maintains standard fibroblast morphology, growth rate, and senescence profile.
- Traceable Origin: Derived from a well-characterized neonatal donor.
- Mycoplasma-Free: Tested negative for mycoplasma contamination.
