Inhibitor of anti-apoptotic proteins from the Bcl family: Bcl-2, Bcl-X(L), and Bcl-w (Ki < 1 nM) that causes regression of solid tumors in mice [1]. Senolytic agent which disrupts aberrant p21 expression, inducing apoptosis in senescent cells, and enhancing liver regeneration in mice [2,3]. Acts synergistically to reduce cell viability when combined with CDK inhibitor purvalanol A in preclinical models of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) [4].
